This stunning pendent design is of an old Japanese 100 yen coin and is known as the Japanese Showa Emperor. These silver coins were in circulation during the late 1950s and are no longer made. The design shown is of the obverse side of the coin highlighting a Phoenix which is an auspicious symbol that has been embedded in Japanese culture for many centuries.
